The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.

Zechariah 7: 8-10 (NIV) Justice and Mercy
And the word of the LORD came again to Zechariah: This is what the LORD Almighty said: Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the
fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. Do not plot evil
against each other.’

Whoever shuts their ears to the cry of the poor will also cry out and not be answered.

Proverbs 29:7 (NIV)
The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern.

As Christians do we always have compassion for those struggling in our world?
